4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Cor 10:4-5
As God brings about restoration the devil seeks ways to trip us up. He uses tried and true methods against our soul. Because restoration is based on obedience, Satan wants us to disobey God. But God doesn’t leave us unprotected or defenseless. He has given us weapons for Spiritual Warfare that are Mighty in Him. These weapons are more than able to give us the Magnificent Victory won at the Cross.
The Devil plays head games with us. He shoots his fiery darts into our thoughts. All actions begin with a thought. The place to secure first and foremost is your mind. The Shield of Faith quenches all the fiery darts of Hell. That means your thoughts must be filled with Faith Building truth from God’s word. It’s not only reading your Bible, it’s also memorizing scripture. Plant God’s word in your thinking it’s a wall of defense.
All of the Armor in Ephesians 6 finds it’s fullest meaning in Christ. All of it represents an aspect of our Savior. So Paul tells us to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh. As God brings restoration in your life do not let your guard down. The initial stages of restoration are such a relief that we are tempted to relax. Don’t do it! Stand your ground in Worship and Spiritual Warfare,
Jesus is LORD!
(Two books I’ve learned much from are by Mark Bubeck, “The Adversary” and “Overcoming the Adversary”. He describes the armor of the spirit and includes warfare prayers. Very good reading and edifying material)
